EQUALITY!

EQUALITY! is about a woman and a man who want to be the same. With full physical engagement, they find all sorts of absurd and humorous ways to show what equality between two people of different genders might look like. The audience is sitting around the two dancers and become directly part of how the two develop dance strategies in order to come together in being "equal". They make choices together, they face the same challenges and give eachother the same opportunities and, they try to get the same amount of attention. Even if it gets hard, they won't give up. For one thing is certain: in every case they are equally unique.

Through contemporary dance, acrobatics and the use of language, EQUALITY! makes the complex topic of gender equality for children highly accessible. EQUALITY! reveals how important it is to strive for equality between men and women as well as as how the challenge of reaching equality can be tackled with pleasure and humor. Thereby the children are encouraged to see the world around them with different eyes and to question conventional ideas of men and women.
